Causes of Poor education in Pakistan

poor literacy

Education is considered as the backbone of society and without educating the nation a country can never flourish. Pakistan has hit the rock bottom in the educational dilemma as almost 40 percent to 50 percent of students who boasted to be future of the country, can neither read nor write a sentence in Urdu or English.

The issue faced by the development of education system narrows down to six major problems such as: Lack of Proper Planning, Social constraints, Gender gap, Cost of education, War on Terror and Funds for Education. The predicament worsens day by day as the rulers as it seems insist on remaining ignorant on this subject, and are unready to realize that even though terrorism, energy woes and economic hardships are huge problems, the ultimate enemy of the state is none other than the corrupt and rotting education system that still bases in learning parrot-fashion.

Education is said to be an investment in economic development of a nation but here in this case investment for education itself is not satisfactory. Pakistan public expenditure to education is not up to the mark. And if this continues to be the case; then this country’s education system will jump out of the ashes only to land into a fire. Some serious steps should be taken in order to cope up with these issues so as to improve the educational situation in Pakistan.
